Living Matters

This newsletter is focused on leadership that matters.  Without a balanced life of healthy living, it is impossible to reach the leadership impact that was meant for you.

I am a self-proclaimed health nut.  Being a health nut doesn’t mean I don’t eat what I want or don’t occasionally splurge on an activity that I consider not to be good for me.  An occasional miss is one thing but doing what I know I shouldn’t do on a consistent basis can lead to serious concern.  Health is not only what we eat, it is also our physical activity and our mental status.

I recently watched a Netflix series called Living to 100. It is a documentary about the people who live the longest in the Blue Zones.  It is not about missing death, we have no control over that, it is about living life.  We cannot control how many days we have to live but we can control how we live our life.  Living is different than merely being alive.

Here are a few of the things that are important in living your life to the fullest. Let’s get started!

Learning Every Day:  A Key to Fulfillment

I love to read. I enjoy the feel of a book in my hand. Occasionally I have a highlighter in one hand highlighting things that stand out to me.

Reading is just one of many ways that I learn.  Life is an ever-evolving journey, and growth comes from continuous learning.  Whether it’s acquiring new skills, exploring different perspectives, or simply gaining knowledge, each day offers a chance to expand our horizons.  Make it a habit to learn something new every day, no matter how small, and watch as your life transforms into a never-ending adventure.

Living With Purpose: Finding Meaning in Every Moment

Discovering your life’s purpose is a lifelong quest and the journey is just as important as the destination.  Take the time to reflect on what truly matters to you, what ignites your passion, and what makes you feel alive.  Living with purpose infuses every action with meaning, making even the most ordinary moments extraordinary. Wouldn’t it be great to know why you wake up every day?

Koai Living: Balancing Your Life Holistically

Koai Living is a holistic approach to wellness that encompasses the mind, body, and soul.  It encourages a harmonious balance between work, relationships, self-care, and personal growth.  Prioritize your well-being by nourishing your body with nutritious food, exercising regularly, cultivating meaningful relationships, and finding time for relaxation.

Minimizing Stress:  A Path to Inner Peace

Stress is an inevitable part of life, but how we handle it can make all the difference.  Practicing mindfulness, deep breathing, and mental detoxification can help reduce stress levels.  After all, what is the worst that can happen? Don’t forget the power of a good laugh, spending time in nature, or seeking solace in a favorite hobby (not work!).  Remember, a peaceful mind is essential to truly enjoying life.

Enjoying the Journey:  The Ultimate Destination

We often focus on reaching our goals and forget the journey itself is where we spend most of our time. I hear people comment about retirement as if it is the end all, be all of their life.  It is not a convincing goal when I see the statistics on “retirement.”   People live longer when they continue doing what they are passionate about.  They have more peace and are happier.  Embrace the ups and downs, relish the small victories, and find joy in the simple moments.  Life’s true beauty lies in the experiences along the way, not just in reaching the finish line.  Is it time to rethink your finish line?

Getting Back on Track:  The Power of Coaching

Feeling lost or overwhelmed on your path?  Sometimes, we all need a guiding hand.  That’s where a coach can be your new best friend.  A coach can help you identify your goals, create a plan, and hold you accountable for your progress.  Whether it’s in your personal or professional life, a coach can provide the support and guidance you need to thrive.

What will you do with the time you have left?  Consider hiring a Foreword coach to help with identifying your next steps and providing the accountability you need.  Sometimes, a coach can offer insights and strategies you might not have thought of on your own, helping you navigate life’s twists and turns with confidence.
